Hotel Policies

At the time of booking, we require a one-night room and tax deposit in order to confirm your reservation. The remaining balance will be charged on the morning of your arrival.

During Peak Season periods, the deposit will be equal to 50% of the entire stay. Peak Season periods are Cal Poly graduation, Cal Poly Week of Welcome, Cal Poly parent’s weekend, Cal Poly Open House, and nationally recognized holidays

If you choose to use a debit card to guarantee and pay for your stay, your bank will automatically hold the funds. We have no control when the funds will be released back to your account. Please check with your bank directly for further information.

Guaranteed Check In Time is 3 P.M.

Check Out time is 11 A.M.

Upon request, late Check Out may be available for an additional charge.

Cancellations must be made 72 hours (3 days) prior to arrival to avoid a one-night room and tax charge to the payment method on file.

Peak Season Cancellations must be made 30 days prior to arrival date to avoid a 50% cancellation fee of your entire reservation. Peak Season periods are Cal Poly graduation, Cal Poly Week of Welcome, Cal Poly Parents’ Weekend, Cal Poly Open House, and nationally recognized holidays

Please note that a change in the length or dates of your reservation may result in a rate change or additional fees.

Hotel Cerro allows dogs and service animals only.

Reservations: Must be made directly by phone as we have limited dog-friendly rooms.

Pet Fee: A non-refundable fee of $75 will be charged for dog-friendly rooms and an additional $150.00 authorization will be placed on your credit card. Dog owners will be liable for any additional cleaning bills or repairs, should they be required.

  • Pets cannot be left alone in the rooms. If your dog is found in the room without you present, Hotel Cerro reserves the right to take action, including eviction.
  • Pets are not allowed to use the bedding or sleep in or on the bed, for any reason at any time. Cleaning charges will be applied if necessary.
  • In consideration of all hotel guests, pets must be leashed and attended to at all times.
  • Pets are not allowed in the Edible Gardens, the Rooftop Pool Deck, the Fitness Center, Spa Cerro, the Spa Terrace or Brasserie SLO.
  • If the dog causes any disturbances to other guests or is not kept under your control, Hotel Cerro reserves the right to take action, including eviction.
  • Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
  • Rooms will be inspected the day of your departure; any extra cleaning or damage may result in additional charges to your credit card on file.
  • Up to 2 pets allowed per room.

Pet Policy Agreement: After making your reservation over the phone, you will be required to review and sign our Pet Policy Agreement.

The Fitness Center is available 24-hours a day and is accessible by using your room key.

  • Sneakers, socks, athletic pants/shorts, and t-shirts are considered appropriate attire.
  • Shirts should cover the full chest, back and lower torso area (no sports bras only).
  • Bare feet and sandals are not permitted.
  • Guests must be fully dry after using the pool before entering the Fitness Center.
  • Other than water bottles, food and beverages are not allowed.
  • If you have the flu, a cold, or any other contagious illness, please avoid using the Fitness Center.
  • Guests must be over the age of 13 and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Equipment must be used for its intended purpose.
  • The Fitness Center is not staffed at all times.

To protect and enhance our indoor and outdoor air quality, and to contribute to the health and well-being of our guests and employees, Hotel Cerro is a smoke-free hotel.

  • Smoking is prohibited in all the enclosed areas within the facility without exception.
  • Smoking of any kind is prohibited everywhere in the Hotel. Including but not limited to e-cigarettes, vape pens, cigarettes, marijuana, pipes, cigars, etc.
  • In the event that a guest smokes within a hotel guest room, Hotel Cerro reserves the right to charge a $250.00 deep cleaning fee.
  • No pets allowed.
  • No running on the deck.
  • No rough play.
  • No diving.
  • Other than water bottles, no outside food or beverages are allowed.
  • No glass/ceramic containers allowed in the pool area.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Everyone is required to shower before entering the pool.
  • The pool is available for hotel guests. Occasionally the pool will be available for the general public for private events.

Valet Parking in the Guest Parking Garage:

Valet parking is available for an additional charge. The Guest Parking Garage is on a first come first served basis.

Parking is valid until 11 A.M. on your departure date. Additional time will incur a fee and will be charged to the payment method on file. Please be respectful of other guests and published check out time.

Public Parking in the Marsh Street Parking Structure:

This structure is located two blocks away and is managed by the city of San Luis Obispo. Overnight parking requires a permit issued by Hotel Cerro.

Reservations

For maximum convenience and flexibility, we recommend you schedule your spa sessions in advance. All appointments must be guaranteed with a credit card.

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the spa facility. Young adults between the ages of 16 and 18 may schedule Spa appointments with their parent or guardian present during the treatment(s).

Please notify our Spa staff if you are pregnant or have any health concerns that we should be informed of. It is always advisable to check with your doctor prior to your arrival.

Hotel guests may charge spa services to their suite. Major credit cards and cash are also accepted.

Spa Etiquette

All spa treatments include use of the facilities- access to our Relaxation Quiet Room, locker rooms, and our Spa Relaxation Terrace. Spa Cerro features a steam room in both his and her locker rooms. We recommend bringing a bathing suit to enjoy the Spa facilities. Spa Journeys & Couple’s Retreats include access to the Rooftop Pool Deck, subject to availability. Lockers, spa robes and slippers will be provided upon your arrival.

We invite you to join us at Spa Cerro at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This permits adequate time to complete the consultation form, and enjoy the facilities prior to your service. Services will start promptly at the time that was booked.

To maintain the peacefulness of the spa and as a courtesy to other guests, we kindly request you leave your cell phones and other electronic devices behind. Please use your spa voices while visiting Spa Cerro. We reserve the right to ask any disruptive guest to leave at any time without refund.

We kindly request that you not bring jewelry or valuables to Spa Cerro.

If you choose, undergarments or a bathing suit may be worn during treatments. However, all Spa Therapists are skilled in proper draping procedures to ensure your complete comfort and privacy.

Spa Cerro has the right to refuse service to intoxicated or disorderly guests, for your safety as well as the safety of the spa staff. No outside alcohol or medication is permitted in the spa.

If at any point a Spa Therapist feels a guest is behaving inappropriately, he or she is authorized to stop the treatment immediately.

No animals are permitted in the spa, with the exception of service animals.

No one that has been exposed to a dangerous disease or displays symptoms of a dangerous disease will be permitted in the spa.

Cancellations

Because we reserve spa services specifically for you, we ask that you give 24 hours advance notice, should you need to change or cancel your appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged at full treatment price. Late arrival will reduce your scheduled treatment time so that we may accommodate our previously scheduled guests.

Service Charge

For your convenience, a 20% service charge will be added to the cost of your treatment. This service charge is dispersed to the spa staff members who served you during your visit.
